Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are
Automotive Talent Partners (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a specialist recruitment agency operating in the UK motor trade sector. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website and our recruitment services. You can contact us at Joseph@AutomotiveTalentPartners.co.uk.
2. What Data We Collect
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number, location
- Professional information: current role, employer, work history, skills, salary expectations
- CV and application documents you submit to us
- Information about your job search preferences and notice period
- Website analytics data — statistics about how this website is used, recorded under a random analytics ID unless you turn analytics off, and never including your name, contact details or anything you type (see our Cookie Policy)
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data to:
- Match you with relevant job opportunities in the automotive sector
- Contact you about vacancies that match your experience and preferences
- Share your CV with prospective employers — only with your explicit consent
- Maintain our candidate database and improve our recruitment services
- Respond to enquiries from employers and other contacts
- Count the applications and enquiries we receive so we can run the service
- Produce statistics about how this website is used so we can improve it (section 6)
- Comply with our legal obligations as a recruitment agency
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data on the basis of: (a) taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, and our legitimate interests in operating a recruitment service and counting the submissions we receive, when you apply for a vacancy, register your CV or send an enquiry (see section 5); (b) our legitimate interests in operating as a recruitment agency; (c) our legitimate interests in understanding and improving this website, for the statistics produced by our website analytics (section 6) — you may object at any time using the Cookie preferences control in the footer, which stops collection immediately; and (d) compliance with legal obligations. Where we rely on consent — for example presenting your profile to an employer — you may withdraw it at any time by contacting us.
5. Applications and Enquiries (necessary processing)
When you apply for a vacancy, register your CV or send an enquiry, we store the details you give us, send you a confirmation, notify our consultants and keep a record of the submission. This happens whether or not analytics is on, because it is the service you asked for. The basis is steps prior to a contract and our legitimate interests in operating a recruitment service and counting submissions.
If you apply, register your CV or send an enquiry while analytics is on, we record which channel the visit came from so we can count applications by channel; this is used for statistics only and is not shown on your individual record. The detailed source and campaign are removed from the record after 90 days; a broad channel label (for example ‘organic search’) is kept. Turn analytics off and no such link is made (existing links are deleted).
6. Website Analytics (on by default; you can turn it off)
Our website analytics has a single purpose: statistics about how this website is used so we can improve it. We rely on the statistical-purposes exception in the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025): the sole purpose of our analytics storage is to collect statistics about how this website is used so we can improve it. You can object at any time using the Cookie preferences control in the footer; objecting stops collection immediately and deletes the visit data recorded under your analytics ID. Under UK GDPR our basis for producing those statistics is our legitimate interests in understanding and improving the website; your right to object is honoured by the same control.
While analytics is on, we record page types, job categories and regions, filter choices, form step and outcome codes, the names of form fields that failed validation, the referring search engine, social network or job board, campaign labels and your device category, under a random analytics ID. We never store names, contact details, CV content, anything you type, search text, your full IP address or full browser string. Pages viewed and events are deleted 90 days after they are recorded; your analytics ID, together with the channel and campaign details of the visits that brought you here, is deleted 90 days after your last visit; anonymous daily totals are kept for 13 months.
Turning analytics off stops collection immediately and deletes the visits recorded under your analytics ID. Full details, including the exact cookies used, are in our Cookie Policy. This system is designed to support UK GDPR and PECR; it is not a claim of certification.
7. How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain candidate data for up to 2 years from the date of your last contact with us, or until you ask us to delete it. We will contact you periodically to confirm you wish to remain on our database. Analytics data is kept for the shorter periods described in section 6.
8. Sharing Your Data
We will only share your personal data with prospective employers with your explicit, informed consent. We do not sell your data to third parties. We use a hosting provider to run this website, and would use Google (Google Analytics 4) only if it is enabled as described in the Cookie Policy; such providers act as our processors and are bound by confidentiality and data-processing terms.
9. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Request erasure of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
- Restrict or object to processing — including turning website analytics off at any time under Cookie preferences
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at Joseph@AutomotiveTalentPartners.co.uk. To have analytics data removed, include the analytics ID shown under Cookie preferences, because analytics never stores your name or email address. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
10. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. However, no internet transmission is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on our website or by email if we hold your contact details. If we change what analytics collects or how long we keep it, we will update the Cookie Policy first and show the analytics notice again so you can review your choice.
12. Contact Us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, please contact our data protection contact at Joseph@AutomotiveTalentPartners.co.uk.
